Roy E.  Overmier
Roy E. Overmier, age 87, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 29, 1930 in Freemont, Oh. to Oliver D. and Zella N. (Bolen) Overmier and graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1948.

Roy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from June 13, 1951 - March 23, 1957.

He married Susan "Sue" D. Fausnight on August 14, 1976 in North Canton, Oh. She survives.

Roy had been a Sales Manager for Nationwide Insurance Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1989.
He then taught for over 18 years for both AD Banker & Company and then with Hondros College- Westerville Campus where he became an Adjunct Professor.

He was a member of West Hill Baptist Church in Wooster; he enjoyed watching all types of sports and was a Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan.
He and Sue loved the beach and had gone on annual vacations to Myrtle Beach for many years.
He mostly enjoyed and loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his blended family: Douglas (Sally) Overmier of Winterhaven,FL., Daniel (Lara) Gopp of Irmo, S.C., Kathi Overmier (Don) Gant of North Ridgeville, Oh., Wendy Gopp-Casale of Akron, Oh., Jennifer Overmier (Bill) Rowe of Broadview Heights, Oh., Julie Gopp (David) Gingery of Wooster, Oh. and Barb Gopp (Jim) Imhoff of West Salem, Oh.; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at West Hill Baptist Church, 8533 Mechanicsburg Rd in Wooster with Pastors Dan Wingate and Eric Fairhurst officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at the convenience of the family.

Visitation will be two hours prior (11:00 - 1:00 p.m.) to services at the church.
