Obituary for Donald E. Leighty

WOOSTER

Donald E. Leighty, 80, died June 11, 2018 at The Avenue at Wooster.

Don was born June 17, 1937 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Wilfred and Mona Leighty.

He married Joann B. Bishop on May 24, 1973, she survives him and he is also survived by children Mark (Connie) Leighty, Mike (Anne) Leighty, Lisa Glascow, Amber (Rob) Tedwell, Thomas (Joyce) Bishop and Sandra (Dan) Reed; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and step-mother Mary Ruth Leighty.

He is preceded in death by a sister and nephew.

Don retired from Wooster Glass after 42 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Killbuck Long Rifles and National Muzzle Loaders. He enjoyed primitive camping in the northern states and was an avid wood carver.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 12 Noon at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Drive in Wooster, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
